How to Jump Start Another Car

You can use your vehicle in order to jump start another vehicle that has a dead car battery. The two vehicles have to be close enough to each other to attach the cables. The vehicles also have to be off and in the park or neutral position. Find the battery terminals each vehicle. Connect the jumper cables. Start your vehicle and let it run for a few minutes. Have the person start their vehicle. Unhook the jumper cables.

Remove the jumper cables in the order that you hooked them up. Keep in mind that this method may not work if the battery is old and worn out. You should try again if the other car does not start. If it still fails to start, then the battery is no longer useful and needs to be replaced.
