Changing a Flat Tire Isn’t a Complex Task

Changing a flat tire is a fairly easy process. There are also helpful tips in your owner’s manual. Make sure that you only lift your car off the ground enough to change the flat tire, which is normally six inches. You might need to remove a wheel cover. This is easily done by placing the point of the lug wrench between the wheel cover and the wheel.

The lug nuts are going to be very tight. You can gain leverage by using the lug wrench at a 90-degree angle. Prior to lowering the car, hand-tighten the lug nuts. It's important to make sure that all of them are used. After you have lowered the car, use the lug wrench to secure the lug nuts back in place. Use a “star” formation to tighten them.
